This conversation happened on May 29, 2015 as part of Musical Ecologies, Dan Joseph‘s monthly symposium on music and sound in Park Slope, Brooklyn. That evening, as part of a celebration of their photo book “On Foot: Brooklyn”, Shepard and O’Brien presented their 45 minute “On Foot: Brooklyn” performance with projected video, live music, and playback of field recordings. “On Foot: Brooklyn” Photo Book is out!

Beth O’Brien and Craig Shepard are pleased to announce the release of their book of photography and writing about the “On Foot: Brooklyn” project.  This limited edited hardcover book contains 46 of O’Brien’s photographs and seven essays by Shepard. During “On Foot: Brooklyn” (February 21 to May 21, 2012), Shepard traveled solely on foot in New York City.  Each week he composed a new piece of music and wrote it down.  Each Sunday he led a silent, cell-phone free walk from Greenpoint, Brooklyn to a different outdoor, public space in Brooklyn and performed the piece at 1pm.  He then walked …
