I had the privilege of spending some time photographing the middle and elementary school kids of St. Patrick’s School in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, as they prepared for the first of two performances of “The Little Mermaid”. These photos are from opening night – April 6th, 2018.
“Skaters” will be playing as part of the NewFilmmakers Shorts program at Anthology Film Archives in New York City. The short film (4 minutes) was created by Beth O’Brien featuring an excerpt of the piece “André” composed and performed by Craig Shepard.
Craig Shepard and I have just completed “Stained Glass Sunset”, a 49 minute contemplative video. The video is one continuous shot through the stained glass doors at Church of the Annunciation in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, from inside looking out to the sky as the sun sets. It is accompanied by an audio recording of Shepard’s “Circle Music 4.1” realized on September 12, 2015, at Church of the Annunciation, as part of the “Music For Contemplation” series. Craig Shepard (Trombone) Erin Rogers (Saxophone) Vita Wallace (Violin) Dan Joseph (Hammer Dulcimer) I shot and edited the video. Watch here.
During the blizzard in New York City on January 23, 2016, I wandered out into Greenpoint and Williamsburg with my Canon DSLR and a mounted mic. Here is three minutes of footage from that day. It’s available in HD, so be sure to change the settings to see the best quality video.
This conversation happened on May 29, 2015 as part of Musical Ecologies, Dan Joseph‘s monthly symposium on music and sound in Park Slope, Brooklyn. That evening, as part of a celebration of their photo book “On Foot: Brooklyn”, Shepard and O’Brien presented their 45 minute “On Foot: Brooklyn” performance with projected video, live music, and playback of field recordings.
